Today I bought some trace mineral salt and a couple bags of magnesium oxide. The mag oxide looks like and has about the same consistency as portland cement. Even comes in the same style bag. 50 lb bag is about $25. I figured if I could get the cows to eat it in their salt, that would be way cheaper than purchasing mag lick tubs.
This was just a WAG and I don't know how it works yet. I mixed 8 parts salt with one part of mag.
Time to think about grass tetany prevention .... what do you do?
