Subject: Difference between LT and ST tires

Wallis, TX
Ok, I know LT is light truck and ST is special trailer, but what is/are the differences between the construction and durability of the two? Reason I’m asking, we had three ST 16” tires come apart (belts coming off carcass) this past week on different trailers. All were properly inflated, not overloaded and all 3-4 years old. Two were Carlisle and one ‘China special’. I’m sure not wanting to replicate this belt separation issue when they get replaced. I’ve searched around on the net but really didn’t find any information that was from what I’d call a credible source or even citing a credible source.
Thanks
Tim
