Can you plant sh types early in cool/cold soils (like field corn)?  I've done it with se varieties for years with no issues but twice i've had issues with sh/su types, like no stand type failures.  I wasn't sure if i planted too deep or if it was just the cold soils.  Possible it was a bad lot of seed but felt it was more environmental.
