West Central Iowa | Anyone familiar with this ATV/UTV park? My 12 year old grandson is going to be here from the Twin Cities most of next week and I thought about taking him up there for 1/2 to 3/4 of a day if the weather cooperates. I haven't really heard anything about this park other than what I have read on the DNR website. Is it big enough for a 1/2 to 3/4 of a day riding, or will he be bored after an hour or so? He will be riding a 250 Honda Recon and I will probably take a Can AM Defender (cab/heater) for me to follow along with and to warm up in if needed. As of now the forecast high is in the mid 50's. It is about 75 miles from here so not a terrible drive if we cut it short.
I know he needs a helmet and the ATV safety course certificate and he has already started on that and he may of already completed it. Anything else we need to take along or need to know? Is a chest protector needed or a good idea for this kind of riding?
