Subject: My glacier finally melted

East Central South Dakota
Took these yesterday. This morning it was gone. Snow on ground till May 11th. Record for here.

1. Planting of corn went well. Cold. but improved to near perfect. Left only half round by snow piles and a few very small pot holes.

2. Very disappointed in how much snow ran off.

3. My free weather forecast is the drought monitor map is going to expand in the directions of the east leading fingers of todays map (look it up). So far it has expanded in that direction.

4. Market is done trading weather until it has seen some damage shorts have to cover. Might be after harvest----see storage in grain bins to collect rally.

5. A drought without heat just won't make the market too nervous. You have to have heat to have devastation.

6. Decent enough start here, north of hyw 212 is still struggling. Guys I have talked to north of 212 around Aberdeen are leaving about 15 percent of a quarter to PP.
