Temple's Gunn set for All-Star football game

Gunn has learned the ropes and become a force, earning third-team all-state honors his senior season while leading the Wildcats to two straight Class 5A playoff appearances. He helped pave the way for the Red team’s victory in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Super Centex Victory Bowl in Waco last month.
His biggest honor may come tonight when Gunn leads the North team at 7:30 in the 75th annual Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Game at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
“It’s a lot better to be chosen for this,” Gunn said. “It’s just much more prestigious. Everyone is so much more talented than I'm used to. It’s the best of the best from all the different schools.”
When notified by coach Bryce Monsen in late May about the selection, Gunn said he needed about 30 seconds to decide.
He'll become the 34th Wildcat to play in the THSCA All-Star Game and extends Temple’s streak of sending a player in eight straight decades, dating back to Ki Aldrich’s appearance in 1935.
