Subject: trimble ez 500 radar output

Alberta
I am just doing some research on how to get radar signal to a JD300 planter monitor. according to the Trimble manual, pin 8 on the serial port output on the monitor is the radar pulse signal. I know there are settings that need to be changed in the monitor and I can figure that out. I am assuming that I only need the pulse signal wire from pin 8 on the serial wire hooked to signal wire of the 3 wire radar plug on the jd power module as the other 2 wires should be a power and a ground, which I would use if I was using an actual radar unit on the planter, which I am not. If this is the case, I will just do away with the 3 wire plug going to the power module and use a single wire weatherpack connector on the pin 8 wire of a serial plug plugged to the signal wire of the radar. Thanks in advance.
