Subject: It's dry

North central TX
Took this picture hoping to I could a before and after to show what a lucky, well placed shower could do to dying grass around here. Unfortunately all I've gotten is less than 1/100th of an inch and it looks like any more chance is gone with the wind. Any chance of a 3rd cutting of hay is now long gone. If we were to get a hurricane or some other major weather event to get a bunch of rain in September, we might get a 2nd cutting. As of now, it doesn't look promising for any more hay.

At least the $80-100/bale in costs will come out even. If it'd been a wet year and hay was 40/bale that'd have been awfully hard to cover for lots of folks.

All we need now is an army worm infestation to complete a Trifecta with the drought and grasshoppers.

The little bit of green is from my garden sprinklers over spray and from the water trough getting run over on the far right.
