Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana | When I was a kid in school (back in the 60s) I would see at least a couple of groundhogs hanging on a fence going to town.
Then in the '80s and '90s coyotes moved in, and the groundhogs disappeared.
This year I've seen 7 groundhogs, including one mom and three young.
I'm also seeing and hearing a lot fewer coyotes than in the past few years.
Seeing a lot of rabbits also, maybe the coyotes thinned things out ...... then moved on... and now the little fellows are coming back. |
