| Got several bundles of "rejects" from a flooring mfg, most is oak, some I have no idea
Here are a few pics.
The first 3, sure looks similar to red oak, but it's probably ½ the weight and hardness, absolutely no oak smell when machining, boards are 16"+ wide 12' long not a knot in them, 1 has some bark on the edge.
The following three are similar in weight/density to pine but sure aren't.
