Subject: Case crab steers

Iowa
I got ahold of a CIH 4494 this spring - I really like the tractor but have a concern. When discing over fall chiseled ground when you hit a bump there is a noticable gear whine. I was really concerned about this - could a bearing be going bad? I happened to be out talking to a guy and his neighbor was working a 2670 and you could seemingly hear the same gear whine as he went over the ruts from the chisel plow. Is this common on that style of tractor? What would be a sign of a bearing going out in the tranny? Thanks.
