i remember back in 80s interest rates went sky high,borrowing interest was terrible and put people in a band situation. on the other hand people i knew who had money invested in cd-s and lock those high rates in for multiple years doubling their money! my question is what was the state of the economy to make rates go so high? as bad as the economy appears to be getting now could this happen again. help me understand the possibilities that lie ahead, thanks
