Subject: Cow with uterine infection

Athens, TX
Looking for ideas on this one. I have a cow that has odor and discharge from vagina like endometriosis. She is bagged up now. Strange thing is the herd is not supposed to start calving for another month and a half. Sometimes bulls get in but I sell anything that does not have a calf in the spring so don't see how that would have happened as she would have had to abort last year to get bred that early. She looks like she is still pregnant just from looking at her belly but I am not really sure. I gave her a shot of LA200 and turned her out in the pasture yesterday. Today she is holding her tail up and hunches down when standing like having contractions. Nothing presenting and not laying down to push like labor. I am planning on getting her back up tomorrow and seeing if I can feel for a calf, or hauling her to the vet. Any ideas?
