NW Iowa | Looking to add a new far off dry cow facility and was wondering what anyone else is using. I currentlt have them in an outside lot with a covered feed lane and am looking for something a little better. The lot has good drainage and works well but i am starting to have some pressure in some heifer pens and want to bring my holstein steers back home(sick of paying yardage), so i would just do some shuffeling around and get enough room for everything if i would put a dry cow facility up instead of having another dry lot to take care of and bed in the winter and muddy season.
I have sand bedding in my freestalls and have the ability to separate and reuse sand so i am looking at putting them in a free stall setting. Any input or pics of your facilities would be helpful. TIA!! | |
