south central IOWA | I think a guy needed his banker sitting right next to him today with the way things were selling. I don't remember the arena ever being as packed as it was today. Standing room only. 38 bulls sold with the average at $4,006. They said that set a record for the average. Only 5 bulls sold for less than $3,000 with the cheapest at $1,800. The high seller was $8,000. There were 19 bred heifers that average $3,426. Cheapest was $2,300. High seller was $6,000. I only watched 14 of the 34 open heifers sell but the cheapest one of them was $2,000 and the highest was $6,800. If these prices stay like this we might have to start selling cattle again at the Expo. | |
