Subject: Lazik eye surgery

I'm considering having lazik eye surgery done this winter (nearsighted). Any advice from those that have had it done, pros & cons. How many follow up vists were required and were they included in the original cost? , any quarantees? I've read where some offer a lifetime correctness procedure if needed, usually at a cost, is it worth it? Do you still need reading glasses?

I'm in WC-IN. One of the drs where I go for eye exams is one of the pioneering drs in lazik eye surgery and has taught many drs the procedure all over the world. His price is $5,200 for both eyes with all followup costs included. How does that compare with others? I have heard of some that had it done as low as $800, though I'm not sure I reaally want to base the cjoice of dr for this type of procedure soley on price.

For those in the central part of IN, any Dr. recomendations in Indianapolis, Lafayette, or Crawfordsville areas?

TIA,
boog
