Subject: Interesting year for corn

Glasgow, Ky

Just finished running corn yesterday evening.  The 31 acre very rolling field was planted April 24-25 with NK68B LL seed.  As this land is over 50 miles from our a majority of our crop land I planted it with an IH 800 Cyclo planter that I picked year before last for $800 and spent very little on before using it.  It was no tilled.  Due to wet weather was not able to spray until May 5 when corn was already up.  Herbicide program was 1 pt Ignite, 1 qt atrazine.

It scaled out over 200 bpa.  Lodging was almost nonexistant.

My conclusion is that good luck, good weather and good seed can make even a mediocre farmer like myself have pretty decent yields.

Merry Christmas to all.
