| We are considering purchasing a good older used combine for our small family farm in north central PA. We raise about 100 acres of corn and soybeans yearly. Hard to find custom harvesters in our area.
75% of combines are John Deere in our area due to close dealership. Looking at 6620, 7720, 9400 or 9500 vintage combines depending on availability and cost. . Want to run 6 row narrow corn head and 15 to 20 ft flex head for beans. . - With our acreage dont really care that much about speed. Reliability is most important . Don't want to buy a supposedly field ready combine and then find out we need to spend a ton of money to fix stuff.
Any good checklists out there to use when looking at one of these older units and their headers. that I could use to question sellers. . We would have a good local combine guy check anything out before purchase.
