| A couple of weeks ago I read where a midsouth Extension entomolgist said that soybean podworms can be the most destructive pests for that crop. My crop consultant reported to me on Tuesday, 9/9, that my last planted (end of June) no-till double-crop beans were at, or above, threshhold for these insects. I had 380 acres sprayed by plane today with Karate at 1/60. I hate spending money this late in the season spraying any kind of pest, but I can't afford to have these acres seriously damaged either. If any of you have late-planted soy in the midsouth, and have not had somebody scout them for insects lately, it might be a good idea to go take a look. | |
