Subject: Rust moving North?

Camrose, Alberta
My winter wheat is getting close to flag leaf and I'm wondering if anyone else have been checking their's for leaf and stem rust. Last year it hit me hard, I lost quite a few leaves. A pathologist told me that if I plan to grow winter wheat to plan on spraying it for rust. I understand that the rust overwinters in Mexico and Texas, then moves north on winds. We have had more south winds than usual this spring, if that makes much of a difference. I have been a little too busy spraying herbicides to check for disease lately, but plan to tommorow. Just wondering what others are seeing.
