Subject: spike closing wheels- conventional tillage

mid Illinois
I was wanting input on using something other than oem rubber closing wheels on the planter in conventional tillage fields. Here in central Illinois, my soils range from a little on the light side to pretty good, dark soil. I field cultivate, then plant, but in wetter areas, I still have problems with closing the seed trench. Most all the talk about spike wheels I read about is in no till/ strip till situations. The martin wheels look to me like they would have problems with over penetration. I don't think I am interested in the schlagel wheels, as I don't want to be packing the soil down like that. What about the yetter close till wheels? Suggestions? Thanks, Greg
