Subject: Challenger 4WD at High Altitude

NE Iowa
Was jawboning with a couple guys at work and we got into a yellow vs. green discussion with the yellow guy pointing out that the 875/975 are at 570Hp while the little green 9630s are at 530. Another guy said that is great if you are farming the sand at the beach, cause the CAT engines start losing serious power as you go up in altitude (like 5000'). It was pretty obvious that none of us knew any facts, so that is why I post this. Does anyone know if there is any truth to the CAT 18L engine losing power as you go up in altitude? For that matter, does the JD 13.5L?
