Subject: One year windfall?

Glasgow, Ky
Presently most grain farmers are making extremely good money off of the 2007 crop. Cheap inputs and land rent compared to today. Now that input prices have gone up and land rent prices are adjusting to the new levels how long is it going to take for the net per acre profit to get back at the same level that it was before the price increase? Based on some of the rental prices being posted on here it sounds like they are quickly approaching that level in many area's.

Looks like, in the long run, the one's profiting the most from the high crop prices will be the seed, chemical, fertlizer and equipment companies along with the landowners. Anyone see things differently?
