| Got a phone call from another farmer yesterday wanting to know if we were missing a group of calves. Said i didn't think so but I would be over to check. They were ours, had been at their place since New Years day. I'm not sure if it was the automatics that our neighbors were shooting off at midnight, or if coyotes or dogs got behind them , but 12 calves from a group of 48 ended up 1 1/2 miles away!
One of those stories where it could have been worse. None were hit on the road, nobody called yet and said they had property damage, and nobody loaded them on a trailer and took them to the salebarn ! | |
