Subject: Why won't my hydrangea bushes flower's open all the way?

I have two white hydrangea bushes. Each year the bush gets bigger and it produces flower heads, but only a few of the tiny flowers on each head open. It does this every year. I have a blue hydrangea and even though it doesn't get flowers every year, the flowers on each flower head will open, but they are pink because I don't give them the miracid they are suppose to get. Here are a couple pictures, one of the bush and one of a flower head.
