Iowa | How are electric fences rated - got a new one today- and the old one has a much higher voltage reading than the newer (on tester). The new one I got is rated at 3 joules - old one doesnt have tag to show. I use the fencer primarily to keep dogs away from some goats that I run in the grove. I have a rat terrier that could slip right under the old fencer wire - the new one - not so much - nailed her right away. So whats the differance - the old one would throw a good spark 1/2 inch - the new one doesnt seem to. Just curious how their rated. | |
