Subject: A little something different today.

East Kansas, DeSoto
Daughter works at assisted living center in a rural type small town with both types of care for the elderly.  Today they were to have "Farmers Day" and wondered if I could bring over my restored 49 B John Deere.  Was a beautiful outdoor weather day.  Interesting comments.  "But our tractors were Red"  "When Grandpa got his we plowed 18 acres in 24 hours."  I remember team of horses on walking plow struggle to get one acre per day.  My first B figured close to one acre per hour.  When I left the farm in the 50's had Cockshutt 570 pulling 5 16s.  Hasn't time changed today..  Gifford
