N FLA | The hurricane in September took a lot out of me, prior to I had all the fences pretty fair. But now I would say I have quite a few places that really don't have fence. Spent a lot of time questioning how much repair and maintenance a guy can do on rented land.
It was about all I could do to keep up hauling hay and feeding every weekend in winter. So my repairs got pushed to spring. Lately I've got 2 guys I can pickup to work and we are on the second of three farms. We can work 14 hours in the weekend and feels like progress, but seems like it will take a year to do what we need to.
I need to start scouting crops on weekends, so maybe we will get the bigger problem areas knocked out. My mom called one day and asked if I got all the hurricane damage cleaned up. I actually wanted to cry and told her I had a 5 year plan.
I bought this little LS tractor and so far it is handier than a pocket. I like it so much I'd like to either upgrade to a larger one, or the same one with more HP. Maybe give this one to my wife with a finish mower for her lawn. But this is a huge upgrade from picking up limbs to throw in a bucket. The JD is doing its share, But we could use the next model up with a heavier loader and 4wd.
Seems like 3 years ago I didn't have a tractor at all.
Here's some pics. I'm having to build back fence in places to get around the down trees in order to clean up and repair the fence. I have another farm I probably just need to build a fence outside the woods as I don't even think we can salvage anything
