Subject: JD 4650 blowby continued, found the problem, not good!

Finally found out why our 4650 had blowby. Took it in to the JD mechanic to have the valves adjusted and he said she needed an overhaul. Adjusted the valves apparently, but she wouldn't start. Thought a piston might have had a hole in it. Upon futher investigation a hose clamp to the air intake was loose and the engine had been sucking dirt. I know someone on here had suggested to check the hose clamps, but it was probably too late any ways. Apparently the previous owner was neglegent to tighten it up. I guess I'll have a tractor that will run for a long time now, but it's hard to overhaul something you just bought. Still like this tractor alot. I'll have to get some pictures of me breaking the engine in with some tillage!
