Subject: A Question about the diameter of a pulley

Ayr Queensland Australia 4807
Someone maybe able to help this is not my usual area when it maths time I should have listened better at school, I am replacing a GM Delco compressor on a Cat D9L I have come across a small problem is currently it has a compressor with a 7 inch diameter pulley and the largest diameter pulley on a new compressor is six inches diameter, my question are how much shorter will the belt need to be the circumference of the 7 inch pulley is 21.99 inches and the six inch one is 18.85 inches if I have worked it out correctly which makes it smaller by 3.14 inches should the new belt be 3.14 inches shorter or half that amount. As the belt only around half the pulley. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.
