Subject: RE: Golf Balls in Combine Cylinder with Filler Plates????

swmn
Put golf balls in a 9510 with perforated filler plates a couple years ago. Combining beans and corn they probably help some but still would get some vibration. In small grain they don't seem to help at all. I just got done putting rasp bars in and could not believe how much dirt was in there. I had two golf balls in each section of the cylinder. One thing to remember, if you are running a grain cart and dumping on the go, the golf balls are not going to help on bit. You have to shut the cylinder off so the balls would fall and bounce around. I stop to dump all the time and shut the cylinder off every time, and I would hear the golf balls banging around, but I still don't think they helped very much. Probably did help some but still not the answer. Leaving my filler plates out now.
