| Kinze is probably lighter because there is less to it. We've only had the Deere for one year, but I'd have to say the spacing was just as good as our Kinze was. Not better, not worse. I think a lot depends on the sizing of your seed and how uniform it is even though it's called plateless seed.
I will say the Deere may be heavier, but it floats better in soft dirt and if you had to fold it up and go out through some marginal mud the Kinze on the 4 retreads would sink like a rock, the Deere transfered some weight to the tractor which was a help.
Bottom line if it's dry enough to plant either planter will not be a problem. If it gets wet enough that it's going to sink you're better off staying away from the mudholes, nothing is going to grow there anyway by the time the combine gets there. | |
