Embarrass WI | We raise several hogs for ourselves and help/friends/neighbors/relation. It was always a struggle to get them on the trailer to go to slaughter, last year I used our calf-hauling crate(that fits on the back of a pickup), tied it onto the loader, set it on the ground and the pigs went in a lot easier. Then just set the door of the crate in the trailer and open it up. Had to make 2 or 3 trips, but we got them loaded. We only have to deal with 6 or 8 pigs/year, if I had to do many more I would come up with a better way. | |
