Subject: Re: OT -- How to load a hog?

NorthWest Indiana
Hogs will climb the stair steps using baled hay easier and faster than walking up an inclined ramp. Was thinking of an old farrowing crate on a tractor bucket, load the hog in the crate, go up to the truck and let hog walk out of the crate into the truck. "forgetting to water and/or feed this critter for the morning and loading in the afternoon will cause it to run over the top of you getting to the food or water. If you have a wide set of boards or ramps, when the hog turns around to get off, put a five gallon bucket over its head and it will almost run backwards to get out of that dark area (right up into the truck). I do not endorse inhumane treatment of animals, but a market sized hog without good equipment can cause a whole lot of exertion, remember each slap/hit results in a bruise on that prime meat.
