South Central Nebraska | We put them on our 1560 this spring for soybeans. Planted over 800 acres and did not notice any plugging or dragging of residue (some of which was 200 bu irr corn stalks). We felt like we had one of our best soybean stands to date with a drill. We noticed some wear but it looks like they will last at least as long as the SDX wheels and the plastic part will be cheaper to replace. An added bonus is there isn't a bearing to go out.
We liked them enough we bought a set for our 750. We like the steel tube that runs down the closer arm for running our 1/8" fert tube. We use semi air brake line hose, it lasts alot longer than the standard fert tubing. We have not used them with fert. yet but are anxious to see how they work.
The finns are 3/4" wide which is narrower than the stock 1" deere wheel but wider than the 5/8" SDX wheel. We took a hand held grinder and took off one side of the finn so it would fit into the bottom of the trench.
You can also order them from Schaben's in Newton KS. I believe they are made by a small company in South Dakota.
Hope this helps, notill89
