Lee Co | I have a '04 6.0 in an excursion and in March I started hearing a wierd noise. took it in to the dealer and they said the weight on the turbo gate was stuck and needed to be replaced. it had ~65,000 miles at the time, after they got the new one ( 10 day wait because they were on back-order) I got the bill. $100.00 deductable since it was under 100,000 miles. THATS THE WARRANTEE!!!!!
my dealer even gave me a free loaner the whole time it was down.
I think your dealer is in need of an older adult joining your son to ask what is going on. take along the truck books and find in advance the part about 100,000 drive train warrantee than ask why they won't honor it!
