| There's a lot more to "turning it up" than just one screw. Are all your rpm limits on spec? How far down in rpm does it pull before it starts to hold? Does it smoke when not under load? You're likely on the right track when you mentioned the govenor "bouncing". But the govenor IS the rev limiter.
If you can get ahold of a service manual for that machine, it will show you how to set the high idle and the low idle adjustments. It should also show you how to set the "bumper" screw. Your local dealer should photo copy the page for you. See if those adjustments do what you need. | |
