Read the EPA and HVAC industry take on hydrocarbon refrigerants.
Your best bet is to convert it to R134a which you can buy anyplace for cheap,and not have to worry about a goofy mix that you can't top up.
Sure gas and diesel are flamible,but they do not have a direct path into the passenger compartment like a hydrocarbon refrigerant does.
There are enough things to kill you out there without putting propane and a sparking blower motor where it can blow out of the AC vents.All it takes is a leaky or burst evaporator.
