East Central SD | I'm going to be looking at a grain truck with a 400 Cummins which I assume is an 855 since it's in an older truck. I've had some friends refer to them as "smokers", but I was wondering if it is just the nature of the beast, or if the engine is wore out when it smokes. Otherwise I've been told that they are a good engine, and cheaper to rebuild than the Cat's that I have now. Anything else I should know about this engine? Also, the IH truck it's in has a Henderickson suspension under it. Any opinions on that setup under a box and hoist?
Thanks,
