Subject: RE: S tine vs spring shank

Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada
each unit has a specific work range and speed
with spike tooth points
S-tine, 0" - 3", 4" repeat spacing on toolbar, up to 8 mph, a finishing tillage tool
spring tooth, 3"- 7", 6' repeat spacing on toolbar, up to 5 mph, a secondary tillage tool

with duck feet teeth, this changes vastly as the depth of cultivation changes

what is the soil type
what are you trying to accomplish i.e. soil facturing in what zones
when are you going to do this work i.e. time of year

my 2 cents
