No doubt about it, PenDot will try to crucify you.
When they tell you that you should have walked to a booth, inform them that is unsafe and illegal. Also remind them it is illegal to egress your vehicle and walk on their pavement, and that even they have tunnels to keep their toll takers off the roadway. Most of the tunnels even have signs informing the public it's illegal to use their official safety tunnel.
