The row units on the 7100 Deere are exactly the same as the row units on the 7000. I've both parts books and I've compared every part number in the row units. They are the same Deere part numbers.

3 point are probably slower to hitch, and with there needing to be a bit of tractor mod to feed 3 point lift cylinder pressure to the lift assist wheels, its more complicated. But it fits into a shorter shed and a shorter field since there is no tongue. Likely it won't plant as straight a row, but the tractor jiggles would then be matched when using a 3 point row cultivator or 3 point sprayer.

I've improved tracking on my 7000 by going to a ball hitch and bolting the tractor drawbar down. Makes it easier to get straight rows.
