Stainless can be tricky stuff, depending on what kind of stainless your welding. In some cases even the backside of the weld joint has to be protected from the atomsphere when welding. If the tank has to hold water or whatever I think I would have a pro do the welding. Mig welds can also leak if your not very careful at points where you start welding, cold starts I think they are called. Tig will give you a better weld.
