Story here in the local media is that the pipeline problems in Alaska have a lot to do with it. Somewhere I seem to recall they said that Alaskan crude is heavier than others, which is preferable for diesel production.

Of course, the coming winter weather for home heating oil always has an effect too, but usually not this early.
