The Bendix is the weak point on the early 2-stroke 250's. check the brushes, you may be lacking speed to keep it engaged. I've put 4 starters on our 350L with about 12000 miles on it. Aftermarket is available from Denis Kirk in the US or Royal Distributing in Can.
