I was never involved with pulling but my days go back to to the start of this sport at a County Fair where a M sized tractor pulled a sled and men stationed every so many feet would jump on the sled till the tractor stalled, men would get off and walk back to their station and another tractor pulled the sled back.

Stanley, we do it 3 times a year at the local club antique tractor pulls-the sled, a "progressive", although that term is new to me, is too heavy for the little tractors to get moving-JD L's & H's, Farmall B's, AC B's & C's, etc., so we use a "stone boat", w/the club members spotted down the track. Only club members are allowed on the boat due to insurance requirements. Just like the old days...This sled will stop everything up to JD 830's & Minny-Mo G's & an Oliver super 99...maybe someday I'll learn how to post some pics...Ron in CO...
