Happened to me once with a broken part inside the housing out in the field a mile away. With a stout corner post alside under the axle from left to right wheel with few short thick planks between that post on both sides of the axle. Then put long telephone poles under and tied the front side of poles to the front axle to prevent sideway movements of poles. Lift the other ends of long poles with another corner post tied to a rear 3pt bale fork or loader. I did that without any problem with another person on the disabled tractor to help steering the front axle.
