Don't know about the 9500 series but on the 9600's most fires started behind the cab. The shaft is cover with a plastic shield-that fills up with chaff and the friction will eventually start the plastic on fire. I think you need to try and remove the shield and that will solve most of the problem. On 1989 combines there wasn't a shield to begin with so never had a problem with it. Maybe on a 99 model they took the shield off again. Good luck!!!!
