We had a Hyland variety do that on us last year, set the ears at 5.5-6' off the ground. We just went about harvesting like normal, we're normally not in a real hurry when it comes to combining in the field so whipping the topheavy stalks around didn't happen. No-tilled soys into the stalks this spring with no problem.
