| I was thinking of doing the same thing. A farmer in a farm magazine used a 2 inch plastic pipe with J hooks I think it was. Did not say how many hooks per foot? He used the bolts holes for the guards to hold them down. He said it was on a 25 ft head and worked for 4 years. I had a Johnson rock guard and it did a good job but was a PIA when you had to fix something. 2 different wrench sets and you almost had to take the Johnson rock guard off the work on the head. A chunk of plastic would flex and could break and the combine would chew it up no problem. IMO or my .02 Fred. | |
